The Mainship 36 Double Cabin was introduced in 1984 at a time when aft-cabin motor cruisers under 40 feet were enjoying a good deal of popularity. Aside from her conservative styling, what set the Mainship 36 apart from competitive models was an easily driven, semi-displacement hull designed for efficient low speed operation while retaining the ability to run at higher planing speeds. The below decks accomodations are arranged with the galley and dinette down a few steps from the salon. A lower helm was standard in the salon and a walk-around double birth is located in the full-beam aft stateroom. With both the dinette and salon sofa converted, the Mainship will sleep eight - not bad

With just 270hp Crusader gas engines, the Mainship 36 delivers a relatively good turn of speed. She'll cruise at 14-15 knots and reach a top speed in the low 20's.
